The Furry Friends section of CHARRON’s CHATTER is my heart. It contains animal advocacy posts. It’s currently a little lean on articles, and that’s a lack I intend to correct. It requires the proper mindset to address some of the more graphic and distressing issues faced by our four-footed friends, as well as a strong stomach, and sometimes I find myself missing the necessary fortitude. I do have a binder of notes, however, including a draft of a series of articles I’d like to write specific to the living conditions and subsequent slaughter & processing each type of food animal is subjugated to , and I resolve to get started on that within this month of November.
There are so many ways animal are maltreated: from cock-fighting & dog fights, to factory farming, poaching, and abusive & neglectful owners—it’s time we stood up to wrongdoers. That’s why I’ve included links to all the animal welfare sites mentioned in the articles featured in Furry Friends. Show your support by clicking over, and seeing what you can do to help. Even a signature can mean the difference between life and death. A signed petition to a congressman tells that congressman: I won’t spend my money on that type of farmed misery. I refuse to condone promoters of that type of brutal sport.
Politicians and fringe society alike needs to know enough is enough. That animal advocates are aware and speaking out. That we demand protective & humane measures be put in place that first foster—and then insure—animal welfare. Surf that category now by clicking the link to article: Force Feeding America, or get a broader scope from the banner menu. GBY, as well.

Interesting!!! That makes two things we have in common: we love writing, and we lo…rve animals. I actually love all nature -fauna and flora.
And the vote goes to mother sow bonding with baby piglet. For a moment there, I felt like being a pig.
we’d be better for it. Animals are so honest. They kill to eat and protect themselves and family. Humans…not so much. They kill to dominate.
Well, to also be honest, animals have their savage sides.
But, yes, humans have some very un-simple reasons for some things they do.
gratuitously savage, you mean? That’s what I meant…refresh me–I am a little fogged in on account of OT at work…
Funny thing is I can’t totally call it gratuitous. We blame their unruly actions on the way they have been pre-wired. Animals work to a good extent with instinct. That doesn’t mean they don’t make informed decisions. They learn “wisdom” and they learn to make judgment calls. So, their savagery is sometimes gratuitous and unjustifiable, and they should be held accountable for their actions -in the Animal Court.
My point, anyway, was that they are not always quite as plain also. Sometimes, animals show the subtle darkness we associate with human nature.
But, yes, humans are masters of subtlety and they don’t act violently for simple reasons sometimes.
What does OT mean?
Animal Court..is that on E?…;) It’s an interesting point you make, and one that bears further research. I’ll have to Google and Wiki, lol…OT means overtime, ma’ dear. I am OT girl these days, though I prefer Cally..gurrrrl..:)
Okay. Let me know if you find something contradictory.
Overtime? Which job is that?
Read you clearly, Cally gurrrl!
By the way, I left something for you at my post “Nature and man’s nature”.
I am popping by even now…:)
