I’m not a mourning person

–it’s difficult to get up

after a wake

and yeah,

I hear those bell ringers

scratch-scratch-scratch

at my periphery

but I just hit

sides,

& shut eye.

–leaving it for later to

pay the toll

for real

and it IS

news…

2x over, news.

the dark death

engaging

just later on

necessarily heralding a

new day

extra-extra!

where time paradoxically ceases and refreshes

(like…that’s new)

to waking & walking

dead, both.

of the Reaper

sets & resets

automatically

(like clockwork)

whether you set your

watch by it—

or not.
