Drawin’ a Blank

scribble-scrabble

Scrabble–

I play scrabble–

& pretty well,

I get h↑ghest score

See,

I have this bag of letters…

Felt-lined, & everything

–these enamel tiles

combined from several

boreds,

(runes & dominoes, too)

complete with

head-turning hourglass

& critical thinking

(I did reference a Book once)

that spanned more than a

few aHems–

–but

Eff!

*a 4-point value*

I cannot for the

triple

word

score

of me

grab the right

characters.

We’re Ships

steamer_ship

relation-ships

are no regatta

such parades

require lotta

boats on bays

I reference

–not a–

mob

but

dates,

in this sonata…

a ship of 2

say—me & you

exchanging

duties

thru & thru

no captain

serf

just 1 big crew

no warring

wor-ship

equal sloops

–since ships

that don’t keep balance right

will bumper bergs that hide in night

and likely sink

twixt

black

&

white.

The Human Malady

Karen Robiscoe dba CHARRONs CHATTER

a standard utility

of human morality

favors humility

a forewarned futility

scans for normality

a proof-less stability

a useless formality

a stab at nobility

a total banality

a wounding motility

its banal totality

a class in puerility

a hostile reality

to foster docility

that leads to fatalities

and tatters tranquility

with utter finality.
