Rainbow Rip Series: Yellow

Lend me an ear,

before you start thinking,

which tint comes next

Mis Write said, winking,

using two fingers

as she was talking,

to skim tome

by home phone,

–practically

walking–

The first clue

for this hue–

I’ve already told you,

it’s the same color ribbon

tied for our soldiers,

the shade of the Brick Road

that leads you to Oz,

this card

(in ball yards)

gives players pause.

The stain of the jersey

at Tour de France

that’s lately

disgraced

by blood-doping Lance,

The wash of the Hack

Checkers detest,

besides what–

–its scared guts

keep cowards dressed.

It’s Fever,

& Stone Parks,

and tabloid reporting,

–where facts

are X factors–

and therefore distorted,

it stimulates thought

& shows paper’s age,

since pages

in stages,

deteriorate.

There’s no more

to co–lore

Mis Write decided,

abandoning tome

to tick facts she’d cited,

flipping her Ipod

to lyric specific,

the mellowest

–yellowest–

hint yet, to cinch it.

Red

Orange

Rainbow Rip Series: Orange

We better move on,

Mis Write explained.

Since parting

a rainbow

in idiom game,

winnows to waves,

in most nomenclature,

providing

a gauge

that color codes nature.

Hue number 2

bears out these words.

It’s Agent.

It’s Clockwork.

It’s also suburb.

in counties

of Cally–

and Florida, too,

this shade is favored,

for prison jumpsuits.

It’s one half

a ratio–

that’s frequently made.

The color of caution

when conically shaped.

A key shade of pigment

for October fests,

as despite

it’s brightness

a squash wears it best.

This color

means trouble

–if suffering asthma–

and indicates terrorists

bent on disaster.

It de-germs a surface

when bottled as cleaner,

it’s zesty!

It’s tested–

ironically greener.

Enough with the clues!

The hinting,

and talking.

It’s the same hue

as citrus in

most Yule stockings,

tacked to a mantle

or draped on a door hinge,

the hue I’ve described

is clearly bright orange!

Red

Rainbow Rip Series: Red

Riddle me this–

said little Mis Write,

what type of color

inspires fights?

Which is the tint

whetting the hunger?

the hue…

is it blue?

Or other–

I wonder?

What shade

of rainbow–

paints thieving hands?

What color button

bombs on command?

What tinted coinage

reveals its lack?

Is it purple?

Or green?

That’s opposite black?

Tell me!

(I’m curious!)

The color of light–

found in the seedier

districts at night.

And what about tape?

hampering trade?

Is it yellow?

Or orange?

That causes delay?

What shade of paint

goes clubbing downtown?

And what kind of politics

keep whole nations down?

What color eye–

flies coast to coast?

And disguises fishes,

better than most?

Is it silver–or gold?

A little of both?

It’s neither,

nor any–I’ve

mentioned before,

It’s as plain as that tired

old ditty of yore,

equating petals

to sugary scents

to love–

and to you,

the color is red!

Cost of Living

You spend a life

day by day…

–like coins–

it’s the rate of exchange for experience.

some good,

some bad,

some Jimi Jimi Jimi,

(all backward guitar) and

youth is its currency, and like the young

boy, can you throw that around!

living large and racking up

deferred debt…

on a wing & a promissory note the

bank doesn’t lose this infrastructure

and eventually,

even for the IT generation

–you know,

the one you’re a part of–

youth’s traded in for middle-aged

gold,

some fool’s,

some alloy,

some heart-shaped,

and man, it’s better to watch where you invest

this

calling off all those deferred debt collectors,

and bending over to snatch those

lucky coins miser-like

–back permitting–

but ultimately,

the aged will have its

rabbit-eared

way…

trailing nothing but dust…

and Peppy, it’s better to quit that game

early on,

some bluff,

some bravado,

some borrowed–

while you still have

some sense

–to leave on the table.

LensCrafters

I traded my

rose-colored glasses

for

bye-vocals…

for 3D…

for backward binock’s

where objects were closer

–than they appeared–

rendering spec’collection

impressively

varied

–when all I really wanted was

2

contact.

If You Put it Like That

to you

I’m her

a boon or burr,

but in my eyes

I’m I…

a more important guy…

the self attached to my…

to what, wherefore, and why…

the me that’s her

to you, or she’s

a different thing entirely

and resonates with him nee he,

apart from us, the we in them,

a they in numbers

3 to 10

exist in gobs

of you and yours,

not groups, but mobs

of we’s in force

and those in we’s

means meez, of course,

excepting none

a world pop,

made up of ones–
